# Hennepin County District 2
> Official governing site of Dr. Irene Fernando, Hennepin County Commissioner for District 2 (Minnesota) and Chair of the County Board since 2023. Elected November 2018. First Filipino American elected in Minnesota, first Board Chair of color, and the youngest woman to serve on the Board.
District 2 covers North Minneapolis, Northeast Minneapolis, much of the North Loop, Golden Valley, Medicine Lake, southeast Plymouth, and St. Anthony Village.
